More control over your session

What we've been building.
Leylines is in active beta. Here is what each build ships, in plain language.
New
- Friends list. Sign in, add the people you play with, and start a session straight from the list. When a friend accepts your invite they connect without the extra approval step, and your list also shows on your account dashboard.
- Lossless streaming. A switch in Settings sends FLAC instead of Opus when everyone in the session has this update, and drops back automatically when someone does not. Free during the beta. Expect about four times the bandwidth and cache size.
- Lossless export. Save your session mix, or the raw cached takes, as FLAC files from the Cache tab. This is separate from streaming and free for everyone.
- Join requests show who is asking. The approval prompt shows the name the joiner typed into their plugin instead of "Someone". If the invite went to a friend from your list, the prompt says so.
Improved
- Timing you can trust. Captured audio now lines up with the timeline exactly, at every tempo. This removes a subtle smear some sessions could hear around loops and bar lines, and because the fix also allowed finer slicing, collaborators hear what you just played much sooner.
- You always show up. Your main lane appears for everyone the moment you connect, before any audio, so nobody wonders whether you are in the session.
- Diagnostics that survive. The plugin keeps a small rotating log on your machine so a problem can be diagnosed after the fact. It stays on your machine; nothing is uploaded.
Fixed
- Invites that would not connect on some networks now connect.
- Loop points play back clean. Looping over the same section no longer clips the tail of the last chunk or clicks at the wrap, no matter how many passes you make.
- Fresh installs on macOS and Linux pick a cache folder that actually exists, instead of warning that audio is not being saved.
- A full review pass fixed a batch of smaller issues: closing your project mid-export is safe, a pairing code you shared by hand always asks before letting someone in, and expired invites say so instead of doing nothing.
New
- Account sign-in. Sign in to the plugin with a secure email link and your license unlocks sending automatically. Signed out, the plugin keeps working as a free receiver, so you never lose the audio you already have.
- Referral codes and invite slots. Your account carries codes you can pass to other producers, and a slot for handing a license to someone you work with. Both are on your account page.
- Your account dashboard. See your license, manage which machines it is active on, and invite a friend to a spare license by email.
- Documentation and a full plugin guide. From first install to how sync works under the hood, gathered in one place.
- Community forum. A place to ask questions, report issues, and share how you are using Leylines.
Improved
- Consistent platform support everywhere. Clear, honest formats across the site: VST3 and CLAP on Windows and Linux today, with AU and macOS in testing.
- A refreshed account and sign-in experience that matches the rest of the Leylines look and reads clearly at every step.
Fixed
- Steadier reconnects. Hardened how a session recovers after a dropped connection, so reconnecting is less likely to lose your place.
- Tougher session joins. Hardened joining a session against abuse, keeping sessions private to the people you invite.
