The latest Leylines beta is ready for Windows, Mac, and Linux. This update focuses on the everyday parts of writing together: getting friends into a session, listening to their ideas, and saving a mix when you are ready to share it.
Getting together is clearer
When someone joins using your session code, you approve them before they connect. You can keep an invitation open for 5, 15, or 30 minutes. Once everyone is in, the invitation expiring does not interrupt your session.
The Friends list now has search and filters to help you find the people you write with. It is also clearer when the list is loading or a connection needs another try.
Keep listening to the version you chose
Freeze keeps the recording versions you are listening to steady while new audio arrives in the background. You can still adjust volume, mute parts, and move audio locally while you work out what fits. Turn Freeze off when you are ready to hear the newer versions.
Choose what goes into your mix
Export now offers two choices: Session only and Session + audible references. The second includes the saved recordings you have brought into the session and chosen to hear, with your listening adjustments applied. Save the result as WAV or FLAC.
Turn Freeze off before exporting. If a selected recording is missing or cannot be read, Leylines tells you instead of reporting an incomplete mix as finished.
Ready to try
Version 0.99.12 is available as VST3 and CLAP for Windows, Mac, and Linux. Update with the people you collaborate with before starting a new code-based connection; older versions need the update to use the new invitations.
